The Lynn Huether Thompson Youth Impact Award honors an individual or credit union making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people through programs, mentorship, education, or community partnerships. This award recognizes those who are positively shaping the next generation and reflecting the credit union philosophy of people helping people.
This award may not be given out annually.
Award Criteria
The Lynn Huether Thompson Youth Impact Award recognizes an individual, credit union team, or credit union that has made a meaningful difference in the lives of young people through programs, mentorship, education, or community involvement.
All nominations will be considered. Priority consideration will be given to those who demonstrate impact in the following areas:
- Creating or supporting programs, initiatives, or opportunities that positively influence the lives of young people
- Demonstrating measurable or meaningful outcomes that support youth development, growth, or success
- Building strong relationships with schools, community organizations, or youth-focused groups to expand reach and impact
- Providing mentorship, guidance, or leadership opportunities that help young people build confidence, skills, and future readiness
- Developing innovative or creative approaches to engage and connect with youth
- Reaching underserved or underrepresented youth populations and improving access to opportunities
- Inspiring others within the credit union or community to get involved in supporting youth
- Demonstrating an ongoing commitment to youth impact through sustained or growing efforts over time
- Reflecting the credit union philosophy of people helping people through service, inclusion, and community focus
Selection Process
Any Association member can nominate another individual or team. Self-nominations are also welcome. A completed nomination form is required. The Association will review all nominations and select the winner.
Judging
The awards committee of Kentucky’s Credit Unions shall judge the nomination(s).
Recognition
The winner will be recognized at the Vision Conference Awards Banquet. An award announcement will be shared with media outlets and highlighted across Kentucky’s Credit Unions’ communication channels.
